Life's Goals.
HOW SPAIN’S LOSS AT WORLD CUP GAVE ME A MENTAL SHIFT
"Spain’s failure rests on a team that knows possession but no longer delivers a cutting edge."
That was how Telegraph UK captured Sunday's round of 16 game between Russia and Spain on Sunday.
If you saw the match, you would agree with me that the
Spaniards dominated play.
Data from the game indicate that they had 79 percent possession and were able to pass the ball 1,114 times, a sharp contrast to Russia's 290.
In fact, Spain had 852 passes in the first half of the game but Russia's only effort on goal, produced the equalizer.
Of course, you knew how the game ended - the Spanish team bowed out 4:3 on penalties. This was after it was tied 1:1.
I have observed, just like the game taught me, that scoring life's goals is not necessarily on how much you have or how gifted you are.
In fact, if you are true to yourself, you admit that sometimes, you see people you are better than, doing incredibly things.
You know they can't match your skills nor stand your expertise but they seem far ahead in the game. That tells you that what is stopping you is not lack.
It is translating such possessions into goals. The problem is that you want perfection.
You need a perfect goal like the Spaniards. You are waiting for 100k, 1m, a website, an uncle, to marry first before you launch out.
Life is like football, no one remembers how much possession (skills, experiences, gifts and expertise) you have.
"Na who win?" dem go ask las las (People are interested in what you did with what you have).
To score life's goals, you must take risks. He that observes the wind would not sow and no venture, no success!
Stop going back and forth, passing the ball around and sideways, like Spain; making up excuses to bag those goals!
Have a game plan and hit your goal.
In this second half of the year the summed up, always remember to, "Use what you have for what you have is enough.
